Shopping Analysis in Milton Keynes

Hi Folks!

Last weekend, Grace, Aimee and myself went around our favourite shopping destination Milton Keynes. We used to go aaaaall the time and just take silly photos of really ugly outfits in different clothes shops. We would set ourselves tasks like, find an outfit thats shiny and animal print together, or two increda-bright patterns mashed together. They were beautiful. I have tonnes of photos from these days out, if you fancy a laugh let me know and I’ll pop some up here!

So back to this weekend, we decided to go trend spotting. And what delights did we find? Well you are in for a treat! First off, just of fun we had a try on sesh in H&M. Now I didn’t go very adventurous I am afraid to say but Grace and Aimee went all out, mainly in the reduced section, and found these beauties…changing room fun

Things to note…

1. Incredibly see-through leopard print cropped vest and itchy voile skirt combo, worn by Grace.
2. Pug fugly grey cat print maxi dress with large slit, worn by Aimee.
3. Aimee and Grace’s matching bright orange outfits of craziness.

Next store we ventured into was Debanhams, and who can resist a good wedding hat section? Apparently the trend here was the bigger and fluffier, the better!

Now onto one of our favourite shops for utter tat, and the ultimate copier of all trends: New Look. The first trend that popped right out at us was, weird slogan tee’s. Here are some of our favourites. Note how sad our faces are.. in EVERY photo….

slogan tees

I particularly like the way that the Boom Tshirts spell Moob in the mirror….

No onto our next trend, Ombre. Or, if you know the random hair advert like me, WILD OMBRE!!! Hahaha Thats what I like to call this trend anyhow. So for those of you who don’t know (how couldn’t you?) ombre is basically like dip dye, fading from dark to light etc etc. So here are some of our favourites! The sad faces are back….

wild ombreOne of my particular favourites was a top that had a slogan on it saying WILD, in OMBRE!! NOW THATS WILD OMBRE TO THE MAX! I also like these ombre bra and pants in La senza, sexy!!!

Now onto possibly one of my favourite and most pointless trends ever!!!! The tiny bag. Like a satchel or a handbag…. but tiny…. for like, no reason. HA!

tiny bags

Seriously? Like who would use these? And what would you put in them? My personal favourite was the tiny satchels in bright colours that me and Aimee are holding, from Topshop.

And now, for your viewing pleasure, here is us trying on other random stuff! I did buy that polka dot dress though as I looooved it! One of them is just of my sister trying to do her jacket up and failing, I love it!

silly times

Wasn’t that a beautiful insight into our shopping life? Be sure to comment below and let me know what trends you’ve spotted and we’ll make sure to include them next time, complete with sad faces and weird commentaries! I will leave you with this image of me and Grace in her new nightwear! She fancied being a vintage underwear model for the day and so bought some cute vintage style slips and this dashing kimono! Who knows, maybe underwear as outerwear will come back in fashion!

Amptill Antiques Emporium

Hi Guys!

What a post I have in store for you today! Its a bit late, but the other weekend, me and my best buds drove up to Amptill to check out the Amptill Antiques Emporium! I know, the name gets me all crazy excited. Me and my sister used to get dragged there as children, we didn’t used to like going on sunday trips with our parents, until we entered this three story Aladdins cave. I hadn’t been inside since we were young so we simply had to check it out! It was exactly how I had remembered it, maybe even better!coat onIMG_6145

I decided to dress for the occasion in an original vintage dress that I picked up in a thrift store in San Francisco! So its come quite a way! I love its pattern and its slightly dipped-at-the-sides hemline. Its made entirely of chiffon so I have to wear a slip underneath, but its worth it.

I kept the rest of my outfit pretty simple, with peach-coloured suede heels from River Island and a little turquoise charity shop purse. The only jewellery I wore is the below necklace, which everyone keeps asking is vintage, but its actually Susuan Chaplain for Asos!! £9 – I had to buy it!

Some of the goodies we found inside include a lamp held up by a harpoon man, some bookends of a ship cut in half, some weird but cute figurines, and an incredibly expensive burgundy bag (OMG if only it wasn’t £45!!)

Whats a trip to an antiques emporium without a little dress up? There was a whole section of party dresses, and a whole section of different hats, bags, gloves etc. Was amazing! All the hats were for different professions and occasions, from a sailors hat to a fireman helmet, it was crazy!

Yeah, the doll creeped me out…

Yes, I made some purchases, but you will have to wait to find out what they are!!! Ok so they are wearable ;) that’s all you’re getting! I highly recommend a good long browse around this place, it has to be the best best best antique shop I’ve ever been too. Some things are pretty expensive but considering some of the quality, a lot of it is amazing value! I can’t wait to go again next time!
